Documents Headed Abroad? Start Here

An apostille certifies a U.S. document so it will be accepted in another country. If your paperwork is going overseas — for work, school, marriage, citizenship, or business — it likely needs one before it leaves.

Every document routes differently. We identify what you have and where it's going, handle state or federal processing, and guide you based on your document type and destination country. Pricing is confirmed up front before any work begins — apostille service starts at $250, plus $150 per additional document processed to the same state.

Official process references: U.S. Department of State and HCCH Apostille Section.

“Given the time and complexity of getting in and of Federal Agencies PIN makes the process secure, prompt and cost effective for busy attorneys who need to process Apostilles in Washington and many larger state Agencies. I recommend PIN highly without reservation.”

“I had to use Notary Pin to apostille 6 criminal record certificates from different states for a citizenship application abroad. They did a great job, realizing that one of the fingerprint records would be out of date by the time we got it apostilled and asking me to do the fingerprints again rather than charging me for a document that was too old. They also noticed that one page of an original was missing and sent me a fedex so I could join it to the others. It's not cheap but seriously, I highly recommend them!”

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an apostille?

An apostille is a certificate that authenticates a U.S. document so it can be accepted in countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention. We handle the routing to the correct state or federal office for you.

Which documents typically need an apostille?

Birth, marriage, and death certificates; powers of attorney; diplomas and transcripts; corporate documents; and background checks are the most common. We'll confirm what your specific document needs based on its type and destination country.

How long does an apostille take?

Timing depends on the document type, the issuing state or federal agency, and the destination country's requirements. A specialist will confirm expected timing and your options before you begin. Call us at (858) 800-3298.

What happens if there’s a problem with my apostille order?

We review each situation individually based on what happened, the work completed, and costs already incurred. If we made a mistake, we’ll work to make it right, which may include a partial or full refund. For government or carrier issues, we’ll help pursue the best available resolution. View our full Cancellation Policy.

What forms of ID are acceptable for a notarization?

A valid government issued Photo ID is acceptable. Driver's License, Passport, Military ID, etc… DMV Extension Receipts, Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards, and other documentation without a photo cannot be accepted.

What if I don't have a valid ID?

We can still notarize it! We need 2 Credible Witnesses with valid ID that can confirm they personally know you and you are the person named on the document.

Can I cancel or reschedule a notary appointment?

We understand plans change. You can generally cancel free up to two hours before your appointment, and rescheduling is free if the notary hasn’t started traveling. If something unexpected happens, contact us as soon as possible and we’ll work with you on the available options. No-shows are non-refundable. View our full Cancellation Policy.

Have additional questions?

Our team is happy to help — call us or send a message and we’ll point your documents in the right direction.
